I’m the mom behind The ABCs of Motherhood and I’m so happy you’re here.
I’ve always been passionate about routines, organization, and activity ideas. From time to time, I pause and ask myself, “Why?”. Why do I care so much about morning rhythms and toy organization? Why do I bother setting up activities for my kids? Why am I so drawn to sharing the best books we stumble across?
Because of connection.
It all comes back to connection. The routines and organization that I love so much, are loved because they free up my time and mental energy so that I have the bandwidth to create and enjoy meaningful connections with my family.
The sensory bins, unit studies, and crafts we do together? Yep, those are the ways we bond and form memories together.
The holiday magic, the curated booklists, the fun dessert recipes… all of it boils down to connection. Connection is everything.
These moments of connection are what create lasting memories in our hearts. One day, when the kids are grown, and we look back on these joyful, often chaotic, gone-too-fast, precious years – we will remember the feeling of little feet curled in our lap as we read-aloud, discovering Narnia for the first time together. Or sticky fingers sneaking licks of brownie batter from the bowl. Or dissecting apples every autumn during our fall unit study – finding half-munched apples all over the kitchen afterward.
And you know what? They will remember it too.
The beautiful thing is that none of it has to be over-the-top. It doesn’t need to be a trip to Disney World. It doesn’t need to feel stressful or overwhelming. It doesn’t need to cost a ton of money.
My number one goal here on The ABCs of Motherhood is to share simple ways to build meaningful and lasting connections with your kids.
